Pamela J's Story

I have lived in a few states - CA, OR, TX, NM - always trying to get away from Miami, but always comiing back. Miami does have the best weather, but it is not what it was. That seven year itch is starting to set in again, but as much as I would like to leave Miami, I will probably be around for a little while longer. I love to travel - RV or plane, US or overseas - so much left to see and do! I would much rather be travelling than working, but that will have to wait for now. I have two children and two grandchildren, but none of them live in Miami. So my travel will consist of flying to WA to visit my daughter and my two grandsons for now; my son lives in the Florida Panhandle, no flying required. My daughter, when she was in high school, was known as the hippie chick. She could not understand why I did not keep all my "cool" clothes from when I was in school - really? She was definately born in the wrong century! She got to go to the Woodstock reunion; I was not even old enough to go to the first one. My stress reliever is sewing, especially quilting. Well, maybe I should re-phrase that - quilt top making! I have many quilt tops, and my goal this year is to actually finish them. But, I have finished many, many quilts for myself and others. One of my favorite quilts to make are T-Shirt quilts. There are many fishermen in my family, so Guy Harvey Tees made really awesome quilts for my nephew...Expand for more
s and my brother. The first one I made was a king size for a guy I was dating a few years back. Took me a long time to get him to give up his Guy Harvey's, but he finally relented and did not regret it when he got for his 50th! Fishing, as you might guess, is also another thing I enjoy doing - deep sea or flats fishing. I have never done fly fishing and not sure if it is something I would/could be able to do - but, then again, never say never, yes? And cooking - I like to cook, though I do not do it much anymore. My most favorite food is Italian, especially anything with Bolognese Sauce, and a bottle of red wine. My music is eclectic, depending on my mood. During the day, at work, it will probably be Rock - Harrisburg, PA has a really good Rock Station. At home it could be rock or country - iHeart Radio has some good stations. Jazz sometimes, on occasion Classical, or whatever is on my computer, depends on my mood. Besides the Beatles, who are my very favorite band, Jonny Lang (Lie to Me, Wander This World) is one I really like. When I lived in TX, about 11 years ago, I heard him for this first time - he was aroudn 19 years old - and he was awesome then. Another singer I found recently who I like is Mayer Hawthorne - The Walk; love the video. So many characters remaining to use, but who really will read it all?? I think I have said enough for now, what will be left to talk about later, right?
